Roots of Wellness: Ayurveda for Lifestyle and Modern Living

The Vita Scientia Club of Assam Don Bosco University organized a day-long event on “Roots of Wellness: Ayurveda for Lifestyle and Modern Living” on 3rd September, 2025.

The event commenced with an invited talk delivered by Mr. Devanjal Bora, Senior Scientist & Research Officer (Botany), Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CCRAS), Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India, Guwahati. The lecture highlighted the scientific basis of Ayurveda, its relevance in modern lifestyle practices, and the importance of integrating traditional knowledge with contemporary research. The session was attended by 70 participants, including faculty members, students from various Departments under the School of Life Sciences, Assam Don Bosco University, and research fellows from the Central Ayurveda Research Institute.

In continuation to the academic session, two competitions were organized to encourage student participation and creativity:
1. Debate Competition on the topic “Is the Rise of Herbal Supplements a Scientific Trend or Just Marketing?”
2. Drawing Competition on the theme “Grandma’s Remedies for Modern Times”

The event successfully combined academic learning with student engagement activities, creating awareness about Ayurveda and its relevance in today’s world while also providing a platform for students to express their ideas and creativity.
