To commemorate World Environment Day 2026, the School of Life Sciences, Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU), Tapesia Campus, organized a Tree Plantation Drive under the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam (EPMKN)” in collaboration with WWF-India and the National Service Scheme (NSS), ADBU Tapesia Campus.
The initiative, part of a nationwide campaign, encourages individuals to plant and nurture trees in honour of their mothers while promoting environmental conservation and sustainable living. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members, and administrative staff, reflecting the university’s collective commitment to environmental stewardship.
The event was graced by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Registrar, Director, and Heads of various departments, whose presence reinforced the institution’s dedication to sustainability and ecological responsibility.
During the plantation drive, participants planted a variety of indigenous and environmentally beneficial saplings across designated locations on the campus. The activity symbolized a shared commitment to enhancing green cover, conserving biodiversity, and fostering a healthier environment for future generations.
The programme concluded with a pledge by all participants to care for the planted saplings and continue supporting environmental initiatives. The event served as a meaningful observance of World Environment Day 2026 and highlighted Assam Don Bosco University’s ongoing efforts toward building a greener and more sustainable campus.
