Tapesia, Assam | 30 May 2026

As part of the World Environment Day 2026 Pre-Campaign and in support of the Mission LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) initiative, the Department of Botany, Assam Don Bosco University, organized an On-Spot Poster Making Competition on the theme “Climate Action” on 30 May 2026. The activity was conducted in association with the Assam Science Society, ADBU Chapter, and in collaboration with the Biowizards Club, ADBU.

The competition provided students with an opportunity to creatively express their understanding of environmental challenges and sustainable solutions through visual art. Through their posters, participants highlighted the importance of climate action, environmental conservation, responsible consumption, waste reduction, biodiversity protection, and sustainable lifestyles, which are key principles of Mission LiFE.

The event encouraged students to adopt environmentally responsible behaviours, develop awareness about climate change, and become active contributors towards building a sustainable future. By combining creativity with environmental education, the programme successfully promoted the values of Mission LiFE and strengthened student engagement in environmental stewardship and responsible citizenship.

Held at Academic Block-I, the competition provided a vibrant platform for students to creatively express their understanding of environmental challenges and the urgent need for climate action. Participants translated complex environmental concerns into compelling visual messages, demonstrating both artistic talent and environmental awareness.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across different departments of the university. Through their posters, participants highlighted critical issues such as climate change, biodiversity conservation, sustainable living, pollution control, and community responsibility toward environmental protection.

Beyond fostering creativity, the competition contributed significantly to student learning and engagement. Participants developed critical thinking skills, enhanced their ability to communicate environmental messages effectively, and gained deeper insights into sustainable practices and climate-related challenges. The activity also encouraged environmental responsibility and inspired students to become advocates for sustainability within their communities.

A total of 23 students, along with faculty members, participated in the programme. The poster exhibition further extended the impact of the event by creating awareness among the university community and promoting dialogue on environmental stewardship.

The competition successfully aligned with the objectives of World Environment Day by encouraging meaningful student engagement, strengthening environmental values, and promoting collective action toward a greener and more sustainable future.

The Department of Botany extends its appreciation to all participants, collaborators, and organizers for making the event a success and for contributing to the growing culture of environmental consciousness at Assam Don Bosco University.
