Festive Sweets & Snacks Activity

On November 8, 2024, the Department of Hospitality & Hotel Administration, Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU), organized an engaging departmental activity on “Festive Sweets & Snacks.” This hands-on session aimed to familiarize students with the rich culinary heritage of India, focusing on the preparation and presentation of traditional sweets and snacks.

Students actively participated in crafting an array of savory delights, including Kara Boondi, Masala Vada, Namak Para, and Masala Chivda. Additionally, they mastered the art of preparing authentic Indian sweets, such as Balushahi, Rava Ladoo, Peanut Chikki, Besan Barfi, Pumpkin Kheer, and Fruit Custard. The session emphasized precision, flavor balance, and traditional cooking techniques, ensuring students gained valuable culinary expertise.

Beyond cooking, students creatively decorated the service area with festive props, enhancing the visual appeal and showcasing the importance of presentation in hospitality. This activity not only refined their culinary and plating skills but also reinforced the significance of festive delicacies in Indian culture and hospitality.

The event was a great success, offering students an immersive learning experience and further strengthening their passion for culinary arts and hospitality service excellence.
