DREAMS DO COME TRUE-Stella Rica

Hello everyone,
I am Stella Rica Khongsni, a student of Assam Don Bosco University, currently pursuing my M.Sc. in mathematics. I’ve recently won the title of “Sunsilk Mega Miss Northeast 2026″—a dream I’ve had for years has now come true. So, guys, “dreams do come true,” but most importantly, “all in God’s timing.”

My journey to win the crown of Sunsilk Mega Miss Northeast was three years of hard work. I started pageantry in 2021, and ever since, it’s been great. At first, after the 12th-grade examination, I thought I wanted to become a doctor, listening to societal norms, as a student who gets good scores should go for the doctor profession, and I tried NEET, but I didn’t pass. Now when I look back, I realise I never was interested, and I was lost and didn’t know what to do next as my whole focus was to become a doctor. Then I decided to do my graduation with mathematics, as that was what I could understand and love the most among all subjects. During this period, I also found “pageantry”—a whole new world for me.
Forward to Miss Northeast 2023, where I reached the top 5. Then a tiny bit of courage in me said, ‘Go again and don’t give up.’ So this time I went for a much bigger pageant, ‘Sunsilk Mega Miss Northeast 2025,’ and I ended up in the top 5 again. Yes, I cried; I was disappointed, but something in me never let me give up because I knew I had a bigger purpose to serve, and that was why I participated in Sunsilk Mega Miss Northeast 2026 and, this time came back with the crown on my head.

This journey taught me 3 important lessons.

• Faith—When you try to do things on your own, you can only reach a certain point, but when you do it with God, you reach the biggest, the greatest milestones you could ever imagine.
• Never Give Up—Had I wanted, I would have given up after the first time, but my ‘never give up’ attitude let me win the crown not just for me but for all those people who believed in me.
• Purpose—Whatever you do in life, always have a purpose, an intention behind everything you do, because that’s the biggest drive and motivation for you to keep going even when things feel uncertain, and for me, it was to stand up for all those women who had been limited in their dreams due to age, height or other restrictions.

When you have a good intention and work at it with a pure heart, then God will bless you with everything that you deserve.

“Never give up; keep believing in yourself and become the reason someone believes that their dreams are possible” is something I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
So when you look at me and read this, I want you to look at me and not say, “Wow! She won,” but rather I want you to say, “If she can, I can too.”
