Workshop on Resume Writing and Soft skill DEVELOPMENT

The Department of Mathematics at Assam Don Bosco University successfully organized a Workshop on Resume Writing and soft skill development on 29th April 2026. The session was conducted from 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM at Room 240, Academic Block 1.

The workshop was facilitated by Ms. Arpita Baruah, Training and Placement Officer (TPO) of the university, who served as the resource person. The session was specifically designed for students of M.Sc. 4th Semester and B.Sc. 6th Semester, with a total participation of 23 students.

The primary objective of the workshop was to equip students with essential skills required to prepare effective and professional resumes and develop the required soft skills for interview. During the session, Ms. Baruah elaborated on key components of a strong resume, including structuring, formatting, highlighting academic achievements, skills, internships, and projects. She also emphasized the importance of tailoring resumes according to job roles and industry expectations.

The workshop included practical insights on common mistakes to avoid, the use of action-oriented language, and strategies to make resumes stand out in competitive job markets. Interactive discussions and queries from participants made the session engaging and informative.

Overall, the workshop proved to be highly beneficial for the students, enhancing their understanding of resume writing and improving their readiness for placement opportunities.
