Bridge course

The Department of Management, Assam Don Bosco University, conducted an online orientation session for the newly admitted students of BBA and IMBA programmes to familiarize them with the academic activities scheduled before the commencement of the regular semester.

During the session, students were briefed about the mandatory Bridge Course to be conducted during the month of July and the 21-day Induction Programme, which is scheduled to commence from 3 August 2026. The orientation aimed to ensure that students understood the expectations, academic requirements, and institutional guidelines before joining the University.

The Bridge Course has been specially designed to help students from diverse academic backgrounds, including Science, Humanities, and Commerce, acquire the foundational knowledge necessary for pursuing the BBA programme. The course covers two core subjects—Business Studies and Financial Accounting.

Students were informed that every week they would receive two learning modules—one in Business Studies and one in Financial Accounting. Each module comprises carefully curated learning resources in the form of video lectures and reading materials. The videos include lectures developed by departmental faculty member, Dr Amarjit Deb  as well as selected resources from reputed national educational portals. All the learning modules and sessions included in the Bridge Course have been carefully selected, curated, and reviewed by the Bridge Course Coordinator, Ms. Rubi Haloi, to ensure that students acquire the essential foundational knowledge required for a smooth transition into the BBA programme. The content has been thoughtfully designed to address the learning needs of students from diverse academic backgrounds and to prepare them for the first-semester curriculum.

After completing each module, students are required to prepare handwritten assignments and submit scanned copies through Google Classroom within the stipulated deadlines. They were also instructed to preserve the original handwritten assignments carefully, as these bridge-course notebooks and assignments must be submitted physically after reporting to the campus.

The head and the co Ordinator emphasized the importance of regular participation, timely submission of assignments, and active engagement throughout the Bridge Course. Students were encouraged to seek clarification whenever required, and the faculty assured them of continuous academic support through the Bridge Course Coordinator and the Department.
