The Department of Mechanical Engineering and the Department of Civil Engineering, Assam Don Bosco University, School of Technology, jointly organized a two-day seminar titled “Embracing the Future: Exploring Industry 4.0 in Manufacturing” on 30th and 31st August 2024. The event was conducted under the AICTE-Vibrant Advocacy for Advancement and Nurturing of Indian Languages (VAANI) scheme and aimed to provide students and faculty with exposure to the transformative developments taking place in the field of Industry 4.0.
The seminar brought together eminent speakers from reputed institutions and industries, who delivered lectures and presentations on key aspects of Industry 4.0, including smart manufacturing, automation, robotics, artificial intelligence applications, and digital integration in production processes. The sessions emphasized how these technologies are reshaping traditional engineering practices and opening up new opportunities for innovation, efficiency, and sustainable development.
Participants had the opportunity to interact with the resource persons, which enriched the learning experience and provided deeper insights into current industry trends. The seminar also highlighted the need for engineering students to develop future-ready skills to meet the demands of rapidly evolving industries.
The program was well-received by students and faculty members from the University and nearby schools/colleges, marking it as a significant academic initiative of the university.
