An educational laboratory visit was organized to the Technical Innovation Hub facility at IIT Guwahati for the students of the Department of Mechanical Engineering. A total of 27 students from 2nd, 3rd, and Final Year participated in the visit under the guidance and coordination of the faculty member Dr. Leena Harshal Nemade.
The primary objective of the visit was to provide students with practical exposure to advanced technologies and innovative research facilities. During the visit, students had the opportunity to explore various state-of-the-art laboratories, including: 3D Printing Lab, Drone Technology Lab, Solar Energy Lab, PCB (Printed Circuit Board) Lab, Electric Vehicle (EV) Lab, Robotics Laboratory
The sessions conducted in these labs introduced students to modern engineering applications, design processes, and emerging technologies. Experts and lab instructors explained the working principles, real-world applications, and ongoing research in these domains.
The students displayed a high level of curiosity and enthusiasm throughout the visit. They actively interacted with the experts, asked insightful questions, and showed keen interest in understanding the practical aspects of engineering concepts.
The visit proved to be highly beneficial and enriching, as it bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical implementation. It also inspired students to explore innovation, research, and interdisciplinary learning.
In conclusion, the educational lab visit was a very fruitful and informative experience for all participants. Such initiatives greatly enhance students’ technical knowledge, motivation, and exposure to cutting-edge technologies.
