The Department of Mechanical Engineering, Assam Don Bosco University, observed
Vigilance Awareness Week 2025 on 27th October, room no. 326, in line with the nationwide
campaign organized by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC). The theme for the year
2025 is “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.” The objective of the observance was to
create awareness among students, faculty, and staff about the importance of integrity, honesty,
and transparency in public life.
The event began with all participants taking the Integrity Pledge, reaffirming their
commitment to uphold ethical values and to fight against corruption. Students actively took
part in the quiz session conducted and also participated enthusiastically in discussions, and
awareness talks on ethical values and responsible citizenship. The programme also focused
on how every individual—whether a student, teacher, or public servant—plays a key role in
maintaining transparency and accountability in society.
The Head of the Department, Dr. Buljit Buragohain along with faculty members, addressed
the gathering, highlighting that vigilance is not just a duty of government officials but a
shared moral obligation of every citizen. They emphasized the need for young people to
practice honesty in everyday life, be responsible in their actions, and take a stand against
corruption and unfair practices.
The programme was conducted in a positive and participative spirit, with active involvement
from both students and staff. It successfully conveyed the message that true progress in a
nation can only be achieved when every individual remains alert, responsible, and committed
to ethical conduct.
