Department of Bio-Sciences Hosts Invited Talk on Career Opportunities in Microbiology

The Department of Bio-Sciences at Assam Don Bosco University organised an invited talk by Dr. Deshmukh Arvind Madhavrao, President of the Microbiologist Society of India, on April 4, 2024, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The session focused on exploring diverse career opportunities within the field of microbiology.

During the lecture, Dr. Deshmukh provided an overview of emerging prospects in microbiology and highlighted the growing relevance of the discipline across research, industry, and applied sciences. He also encouraged students to consider bio-entrepreneurship as a viable and promising career path, citing several real-life success stories to illustrate the potential of innovation-driven ventures in the biological sciences.

The talk witnessed active participation from 65 students and 7 faculty members of the Department of Bio-Sciences. The session served as an informative platform for students to gain insights into future career trajectories and the expanding scope of microbiology in the contemporary scientific landscape.
