An Industrial visit to Mankind Pharma Ltd, Sikhim, was organised by the Institute of Pharmacy, ADBU, for the benefit of the B.Pharm 6th Semester Students on 6th January 2025. The visit started with a friendly welcome and a security check. Students and faculty received gowns, hairnets, and shoe covers before entering the manufacturing area.
The tour of the production unit was led by an experienced professional who explained the tablet preparation process. The focus was on the granulation process, with details on high-shear mixers and fluid bed granulators. Students learned how granules are compressed into tablets and observed the coating and drying processes. The guide explained the equipment and the importance of achieving the right moisture content.
In the packaging area, students learnt about different packaging processes, including primary, secondary, and tertiary, as well as blister and strip packaging. The visit offered valuable insights into pharmaceutical manufacturing, inspiring students to consider careers in the industry.
