A tribute to Prof. Mahadeva Lal Schroff, the Father of Pharmacy Education in India, to mark his 123rd Birth Anniversary (6th March 2025).
The prestigious Pharma Anveshan 2025 was successfully organized at the Institute of Pharmacy, Assam Don Bosco University, in collaboration with the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) on the Theme: “Entrepreneurship & Startups in Pharma and Pharmacy Practice – Encouraging Innovation, Incubation Centers, and Pharmaceutical Startups”. The celebration held on the 9th of March 2025. The event witnessed the esteemed presence of the Hon’ble President of PCI, Dr. Montukumar M. Patel, as the Chief Guest, one Executive Council member Dr. H. Lalhlenmawia, from Mizoram, eight Central Council members, Shri Surinder Mohan from Jammu and Kashmir, Dr. Nepram Swarnalata from Manipur, Shri Antony Laloo from Meghalaya, Dr. Tarun Kanti Ghosh from Tripura, Prof. Dr. Rishi Raj Chhetree from Tripura, Shri Iarap T.D.Toi from Meghalaya, Sri S. Lithungo Lotha from Nagaland and Shri Sudhir Chandra Saha from Assam as distinguished guests. Shri Rk. Basumani Singh, President and Shri S Brajakeshor Singh, Registrar of Manipur State Pharmacy Council, also witnessed this event. Approximately 300 delegates from the different pharmaceutical industries, research centers, entrepreneurs’ development agencies, and academia actively participated in the event.
The program commenced with the registration and breakfast session, followed by a warm welcome address by the Convener, Prof. (Dr.) Raja Chakraborty. A traditional lamp lighting ceremony, Saraswati Vandana, and a classical dance performance added cultural significance to the event. The dignitaries were then felicitated, and the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, Father Dr. Jose Palely, addressed the gathering.
Dr. Montukumar M. Patel delivered an inspiring speech highlighting the achievements of the Pharmacy Council of India and emphasizing the importance of fostering entrepreneurship in the pharmaceutical sector. He elaborated on PCI’s initiatives in promoting pharmaceutical entrepreneurship, stressing the need for industry-academia collaboration and regulatory support to drive innovation.
Dr. Khusboo Patel, Owner and Founder Aveon Pharmaceutical Distributors, Dr. H. Lalhlenmawia, EC Member, Pharmacy Council Member, and Prof. Sukirti Das, Professor, NETES Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, were recognized for their remarkable work and dedication towards pharmaceutical field.
A video showcasing PCI’s accomplishments was played, followed by insightful sessions by industry leaders, including Mr. Gunajit Roy on “Bridging the Gap: Industry-Academia Collaboration for Pharma Startups and Innovation” and Dr. Bula Choudhury on “Bio-entrepreneurship & BioE3.” An open discussion session, moderated by Dr. H. Lalhlenmawia, EC Member, PCI, provided a platform for attendees to exchange ideas on the event’s theme.
The event concluded with a cultural evening and a vote of thanks by Prof. (Dr.) Deepak Sharma. The attendees then gathered for Hi-Tea, marking the successful conclusion of Pharma Anveshan 2025.
