Earth Week celebration:Pledge Taking for Eco-Friendly Practices on Campus

As part of the Earth Week celebrations (22 nd – 29 th April 2026), the Department of Zoology,
Assam Don Bosco University, in collaboration with the Eco Club, organized a Pledge Taking
Activity on Eco-Friendly Practices on 27 th April, 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Department of
Zoology, Block I.

The programme aimed to promote environmental awareness and encourage sustainable
practices among the campus community. Students from both Undergraduate (UG) and
Postgraduate (PG) programmes of the department, along with faculty members, actively
participated in the event, demonstrating their collective commitment to environmental
conservation.

The ceremony began with a brief introduction highlighting the importance of Earth Week and
the urgent need to adopt eco-friendly habits in daily life. Participants were sensitized to
pressing environmental challenges such as climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss,
and were encouraged to take individual responsibility in addressing these issues.

Overall, the pledge-taking ceremony was a significant and impactful component of the Earth
Week celebrations. It strengthened environmental consciousness within the campus and
inspired participants to act as responsible stewards of nature. The programme concluded with
a renewed commitment from all participants to uphold and promote eco-friendly values in
their everyday lives.
