City Nature Challenge 2026

The Department of Zoology, Assam Don Bosco University, in collaboration with WWF India,
successfully organised the City Nature Challenge 2026 from 24th to 27th April 2026 at the
Tapesia Campus.

The City Nature Challenge (CNC) is a global citizen science initiative that encourages people
to observe and document biodiversity using digital platforms. The objective of the event was
to promote awareness about local biodiversity and engage students in hands-on learning
through nature observation and documentation.

The main event was held on 24th April 2026, witnessing the enthusiastic participation of 70
undergraduate and postgraduate students. The programme began with an introductory session
highlighting the importance of biodiversity documentation and citizen science.

The Department expresses its sincere gratitude to WWF India for their collaboration and
support in organising this event. The active participation of students and faculty contributed
significantly to the success of the programme.
