The Department of Psychology, Assam Don Bosco University, Tapesia, organized a workshop on “E-Resources and Ethical Practices: A Basic Overview” on 24th November 2025 under the Journal Club. The workshop aimed to familiarize postgraduate students with the effective use of digital academic resources and to promote ethical practices in research and academic writing.
Objectives of the Workshop
- To introduce students to various e-resources available through the university library.
- To enhance students’ skills in accessing and utilizing digital academic databases.
- To create awareness about ethical issues in research, including plagiarism and proper citation practices.
- To promote responsible and ethical academic conduct among students.
Activities Invoved:
The session was conducted in an informative and interactive manner, focusing on both resource utilization and ethical awareness:
- Introduction to E-Resources: The resource person provided an overview of various e-resources, including academic databases, e-journals, and digital libraries accessible through the university.
- Demonstration of Access and Use: Students were guided on how to efficiently search for scholarly articles, journals, and research materials using online platforms.
- Ethical Practices in Research: The importance of academic integrity was emphasized, including proper citation, referencing styles, and avoidance of plagiarism.
- Guidance on Referencing Tools: Practical tips on organizing references and maintaining research ethics were shared.
The workshop enhanced students’ awareness and competence in using e-resources for academic and research purposes. Participants gained clarity on ethical practices in research, including plagiarism avoidance and proper citation methods. The session contributed to strengthening responsible research behavior among postgraduate students.
