The workshop was held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and was attended by 76 students. The workshop aimed to enhance students’ understanding of statistical methods commonly used in psychological research and to provide practical exposure to data analysis using SPSS. It helped to familiarize participants with various statistical tests frequently employed in psychological studies, develop their understanding of the applications and appropriate use of different statistical techniques, and enable them to select suitable statistical tests based on specific research objectives. The workshop also focused on providing a conceptual understanding of statistical significance and the interpretation of research findings. The session began with an introduction to the importance of statistics in psychological research. Various statistical concepts were discussed, including descriptive and inferential statistics, levels of measurement, and the selection of appropriate statistical tests based on research objectives and data characteristics. The workshop covered commonly used statistical techniques. A significant component of the workshop focused on the practical application of statistical procedures using SPSS. Students were guided through data entry, variable coding, descriptive statistical analysis, and the execution and interpretation of various statistical tests. Demonstrations using sample datasets helped participants understand the process of analyzing and interpreting research data effectively.

Overall, the workshop successfully achieved its objectives by strengthening students’ conceptual understanding of statistical analysis and enhancing their practical skills in using SPSS for psychological research.
