United Nations Day 2025 Celebration Organized on 24 October 2025

The Department of Public Administration, Assam Don Bosco University, organised the United Nations Day 2025 Celebration on 24 October 2025 at Cenacle Hall, Block V, Tapesia Campus. The event marked the 80th anniversary of the United Nations and was conducted on the theme “Empowering Youth for Peace, Development and Human Rights.”

The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. Saurabh Chandra, Head of the Department, who highlighted the significance of UN ideals in promoting global cooperation and peace. BA Public Administration students presented the UN Anthem, setting the tone for the event. The keynote lecture by Dr. Santhosh J. focused on the relevance of the United Nations in the 21st century, emphasizing its role in peacekeeping, humanitarian work, and achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The celebration included a documentary screening on the UN’s journey, an inter-class quiz competition, and student presentations on topics such as India’s role in the UN and climate governance. Over 90 students actively participated, making the event interactive and engaging.

The programme successfully enhanced students’ understanding of global governance, human rights, and sustainable development, inspiring them to become responsible global citizens.
