
The Department of Public Administration, Assam Don Bosco University, in collaboration with the Debate, Quiz and Literary Club, organised Debate and Extempore Speech Competitions on 31 October 2025 at Room No. 215, Block II, Tapesia Campus. The event was conducted as part of Vigilance Awareness Week 2025, themed “Vigilance: Our Shared Responsibility.”
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Santhosh J., followed by the formal inauguration by Rev. Fr. Dr. Zacharias George, Registrar of the University. In his address, he highlighted the importance of integrity, accountability, and ethical conduct in governance and everyday life.
The Extempore Speech Competition tested participants’ spontaneity and articulation skills, where students spoke on assigned topics with confidence and clarity. This was followed by the Debate Competition on the topic “Integrity and Vigilance are the Cornerstones of Good Governance,” where students presented well-structured arguments, showcasing critical thinking and awareness of governance issues.
Students from various departments actively participated, making the event vibrant and engaging. The participants were evaluated on content, clarity, and delivery, and certificates were awarded. The programme successfully promoted awareness of vigilance and ethics while enhancing communication skills.
