The Department of Public Administration, Assam Don Bosco University, organised a Value-Added Course (VAC) on “Data Management and Visualisation” from 3 to 8 November 2025 at the Tapesia Campus. The programme was designed to enhance the analytical and technical skills of M.A. Public Administration Semester III students.
The course, coordinated by Dr. Saurabh Chandra, followed a blended learning approach combining offline classroom sessions and online modules. A total of 29 students actively participated in the programme. The offline sessions (3–5 November) focused on data management concepts, data collection, validation, and practical training in MS Excel for data cleaning and organisation.
The online sessions (6–8 November) introduced students to advanced data visualisation tools such as Power BI and Tableau, along with techniques for storytelling with data. The course also included assignments, practical exercises, and a final project to assess students’ learning.
The programme significantly improved students’ ability to analyse and present data effectively. It also strengthened their research and digital competencies, which are essential for academic and professional growth. Overall, the course was highly beneficial and aligned with the department’s commitment to skill-based education.
