

The Department of Public Administration, Assam Don Bosco University, organised a two-day Workshop on “Urban Governance” in collaboration with Praja Foundation, Guwahati, on 24 March and 31 March 2026. The sessions were held at the Seminar/Workshop Room, Academic Block 5, providing an interactive platform for students and faculty to engage with contemporary urban governance issues.
The first session was facilitated by Early Sarma and Swarbani Baruah, who introduced key concepts such as citizen participation, accountability, and data-driven governance. The interactive discussions encouraged participants to reflect on local urban challenges.
The second session was delivered by Gitartha Das, Associate Manager at Praja Foundation, who elaborated on governance frameworks, public service delivery, and the role of civic engagement. Real-world examples and case-based discussions helped participants understand the practical dimensions of urban administration.
The workshop was convened by Dr. Saurabh Chandra and coordinated by Dr. Khaidem Yaiphabi Singha. The sessions fostered critical thinking, awareness, and active participation among attendees.
Overall, the workshop significantly enhanced participants’ understanding of urban governance and encouraged them to become informed and responsible stakeholders in urban development.
