On February 16, 2024, the Department of Hospitality & Hotel Administration, Assam Don Bosco University (ADBU), organized a workshop on “Flower Arrangement” to enhance students’ knowledge and skills beyond culinary arts and service. This initiative aimed to introduce the artistic and aesthetic aspects of hospitality, emphasizing the significance of floral décor in guest experiences.

Under the expert guidance of Ms. Soma Lyngdoh, Ms. Dimpi Gogoi, and Mr. Sabyasachi Banerjee, students actively participated in the workshop, learning the fundamental techniques of floral arrangement, color coordination, and design balance. The session focused on creative expression, event décor, and the impact of floral aesthetics in hospitality spaces such as hotels, restaurants, and banquets.

This hands-on experience allowed students to explore the role of floral design in enhancing ambiance and guest satisfaction. The workshop successfully broadened their perspectives, reinforcing that hospitality extends beyond food and service to include the art of creating memorable experiences through design and decoration.
