“Beerology Unveiled: Celebrating International Beer Day with Knowledge and Craft”

On the occasion of International Beer Day, the Department of Hospitality & Hotel Administration at Assam Don Bosco University organized an engaging and insightful masterclass on “Beerology.” The session was designed to provide students with both theoretical knowledge and practical exposure to the fascinating world of beer, an essential component of global beverage culture.

The masterclass introduced students to the complete process of beer manufacturing—from the selection of raw materials to the final brewing stages. Students gained a deeper understanding of key ingredients such as malt, hops, yeast, and water, along with their individual properties and how they influence flavor, aroma, color, and texture in beer. This scientific approach helped bridge the gap between classroom learning and industry practices.

In addition to production knowledge, the session emphasized the importance of table etiquette and service standards associated with beer. Students were guided on correct pouring techniques, appropriate glassware selection, and professional serving styles—skills that are crucial in delivering quality guest experiences in hospitality settings.
