The comforting aroma of freshly baked delicacies filled the air as students of the Department of Hospitality & Hotel Administration at Assam Don Bosco University stepped into an engaging and hands-on baking session. Truly, happiness was not just a feeling—it was the irresistible scent of golden-brown treats emerging from the oven.
The practical session was designed to equip students with essential baking skills while encouraging creativity, precision, and an understanding of textures and flavours. From measuring ingredients to mastering baking techniques, the experience offered a perfect blend of learning and enjoyment.
The students prepared a delightful range of baked items, each showcasing unique techniques and flavour profiles. The Coconut Cookies turned out crisp and aromatic, offering a tropical touch, while the Fruit & Nut Cookies provided a rich and wholesome bite filled with texture. The soft and moist Banana Muffins were a highlight, demonstrating the balance of sweetness and fluffiness.
Adding a savory twist to the session, students baked Stuffed Garlic Veg Bread, infused with herbs and flavors that made it both comforting and indulgent. The Spiced Chicken Bread stood out as a fusion delight, combining well-seasoned filling with perfectly baked bread, reflecting both creativity and culinary skill.
Beyond recipes, the session emphasized hygiene, time management, and presentation—key aspects of professional kitchen operations. Students actively participated, collaborated, and explored their culinary instincts, making the session both educational and memorable.
This baking practical not only enhanced technical competence but also instilled confidence and passion among budding hospitality professionals. It was indeed a day where learning rose beautifully—just like the baked creations themselves.
