World Tourism day 2026: celebrating culture, heritage and cuisine of north east

The Department of Hospitality and Hotel Administration, Assam Don Bosco University, celebrated World Tourism Day 2026 with the theme “Eight States, Eight Stalls, One Northeast.” Students showcased the tourism, culture, heritage, cuisine, natural beauty and hidden gems of the eight Northeastern states through creative stalls and interesting facts. The celebration provided a platform for students to explore the rich diversity and unique identity of Northeast India. It also highlighted the importance of sustainable tourism, community participation and cultural preservation. The event encouraged everyone to discover local destinations, respect indigenous cultures and promote Northeast India as a diverse and responsible tourism destination.
