One Act Play Competition under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan – September 11, 2025

The Department of Public Administration, in collaboration with CDSI (Centre for Development Studies and Initiatives) and Uniservitate at Assam Don Bosco University, successfully organised a One Act Play Competition under the Service Learning Fellowship – Youth for “Drug Free Campus” on 11th September 2025. The event was held at Classroom B1-019, Block 5, and was supported by the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan.

The competition aimed to encourage creativity, teamwork, and artistic expression among students while addressing pressing social and moral issues through performance. Participants demonstrated exceptional talent in scriptwriting, acting, and stage presentation, leaving the audience both inspired and entertained.

The event was coordinated and graced by Prof. Riju Sharma, Director of CDSI, and Ms. Manashi Parashar, Project Coordinator.


Objectives

The competition was designed with the following objectives:

  1. To provide a platform for students to showcase their artistic talents.
  2. To encourage creative expression and teamwork among participants.
  3. To foster confidence, communication skills, and public performance abilities among students.
  4. To integrate service learning with higher education through experiential activities.

Proceedings of the Event

The event commenced at 12:00 PM in Classroom B1-019, Block 5. Students from various disciplines participated enthusiastically, presenting thought-provoking performances centered on social issues, youth empowerment, and moral values.

The plays were evaluated based on creativity, content, message delivery, teamwork, and stage presence. The participants displayed remarkable energy and confidence, making the event both engaging and impactful.

Conclusion

The One Act Play Competition proved to be a great success, reinforcing the importance of integrating creativity and service learning in education. It encouraged students to engage with societal issues through artistic expression while promoting teamwork, responsibility, and social awareness, in alignment with the vision and mission of Assam Don Bosco University.
